How To Make Homemade Tomato Paste For The Winter?

In general, believe it or not, you can easily save homemade tomato juice without chemicals and additives for the winter. I know that there are many housewives who buy more milled tomatoes and cook it themselves. To be honest, I’m still not a supporter of such a way of saving for the winter. In the first place because they do not know what conditions he squeezed the juice from the tomatoes. Hygiene is very important for this juice. But of course, the choice is yours.

In any case, if you have a juicer, it is much easier to prepare homemade tomato sauce for the winter. The recipe, which you can read, below, is given for a quantity of 10 kilograms tomatoes. You can increase or decrease the amount according to your needs.

Homemade Tomato Sauce/Juice – Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 10 kilograms of tomatoes,
  • salt to taste,
  • little oil.

Although, I’m a little modify each recipe, including this one. Usually, with tomato, I grind and 2 ties parsley and celery. In half the amount, I add the minced 2 – 3 peppers.

So, how to make homemade organic tomato juice/sauce?

Simply, wash the tomatoes, clean it from the stems. Peel it.  Grind it into the juicer. If you do not have a juicer, then you should grind in a meat grinder. The easiest way, to peel tomatoes, is, if you briefly dip in hot, then cold water.

When you grind all the tomatoes, pour it into a larger pot and turn the stove on medium power (if you have, say, 9 divisions, homemade tomato juice without preservatives, should let it boil 4). When it’s boiling,  then reduce a temperature and let it cook. Cook while the excess water evaporates, for about 1 hour. At the end of cooking, add salt to taste.

Packaging

Meanwhile, sterilize bottles in the oven. When the tomato juice is cooked pour it into the prepared hot bottle. Pour a little oil. It is best that it be olive oil. If you want to its healing properties come to the fore.

Then seal the bottle, and cover them with a blanket. It is important that domestic tomato juice slowly cooled. If he stays warm as long as possible, and that naturally cools. When the bottles are completely cool, store them in a cool, dark place for the winter.
